Blue Hope Consulting will meet with you to discuss your needs, it all starts with a free, one-hour consultation.

We will discuss with you or your family what planning you have done so far, then look at various options to tailor a work package that is suitable to your needs.  We have no alliance to any Aged Care facility or Retirement Village.  We simply look at geography, your lifestyle and endeavour to match your needs with the most suitable place.

Blue Hope Consulting offers the following Packages:

• Package 2 – Selecting a place for you – Transition to Aged Care
• Package 3 – Carers Package – Transport to 2 Medical appts
• Package 4 – Transport to Events
• Package 5 – Secretarial Services
• Package 6 – Legal Documentation – Tailored to the need

These are standard (flat fee) packages.  We do, however, understand that there is no such thing as one size fits all.  Whilst these packages are indicative, we tailor each package to meet your needs.

Package 1 – Aged Care Roadmap – $150

This is the best package for everyone.  We sit down and discuss what plans you need to have in place.  This package provides a step by step guide to what you will need, in the order you will need it.  It helps people understand how to access government services that are available to them, and steps through how to complete other activities.  Sometimes family members can assist which may reduce the cost.  We provide a step by step plan and how much it will cost for each component.

Package 2 – Transition to Aged Care 

This package incorporates a number of activities that is designed to help families reduce the stress out of the transition to Aged Care.  Finding a suitable Aged Care facility is usually a period of high emotion as most elderly are reluctant to relinquish their independence.  The decision can sometimes come about following an accident at home and realisation that the elderly person is no longer able to remain independent.  This transition must be done with utmost respect and sensitivity to the needs of the elderly resident.

• Blue Hope Consulting will meet with the family (out of hours if necessary) to understand the needs of the elderly family member
• We will discuss the transition process, the feelings and emotions
• We will discuss your requirements and identify suitable places to consider and visit
• We will provide a comparative report so that you can make a better decision.

The benefit of this package is that we will save you an enormous amount of time.  We have researched places, we know what to ask and potentially save you considerable days/weeks of research and more particularly, time.  We can also assist you either get onto a waiting list more quickly and potentially expedite the entry, depending upon the urgency of your need.

This package includes two appointments/tours at your short-listed preferred venues.

Package 3 – Carers Package – Transport to Medical Appointments

For some families, there are work commitments prevent them from being able to spend the time taking their elderly relatives to/from medical appointments.

Blue Hope Consulting offers the Carers Package (Transportation) to meet with the family after hours to understand the needs and meet with your loved one.  The purpose of this meeting is for them to be comfortable that someone other than family will be helping them with transport and attend medical appointments with them.  We will also talk through any background necessary and expectations from the medical appointment.

If all parties agree, your Blue Hope Consulting representative will attend the appointment with your relative and document comments and feedback from the doctor/specialist to allow this to be properly reported and fed back to the family in the evening following the appointment.

Package 4 – Transport to events

Got a special occasion coming up?  It may be that you would like to go to the wedding ceremony of a family member but not to the reception.  We can take you to the ceremony and bring you home.  Need to get to the Arts Centre or Theatre?  We can accompany you and ensure that your walking stick/ stroller is available for you and get you safely to your seat.

One client of Blue Hope Consulting asked Wendy to take her to the Arts Centre on New Year’s Eve.   She knew her family was busy and so they both enjoyed an afternoon of music.

Package 5 – Secretarial Services 

This package is to support the move or transition.  All those utility companies, businesses and contacts that will need change of address documentation.  We will prepare correspondence suitable for what you need, ready for you to sign.  We will then organise to send this mail through the post.

If you need organising at home, then we can assist.

Package 6 – Legal Documentation Package

For many, the legal formalities are often put off until too late.  A representative from Blue Hope will meet the family to determine the legal requirements to assess what needs to be completed prior to entry to Aged Care or Retirement Living.  This package depends on whether you need Blue Hope Consulting to take you to the Legal representative, or whether we arrange for them to visit you in your own home.

• Medical Power of Attorney document(s)
• Financial Power of Attorney document(s).

If the elderly family member is in hospital, Blue Hope Consulting can also organise for the Legal representative to attend to the patient at the hospital.
